In March, I was fortunate enough to be asked to be the event photographer for the BLSI Team as they participated in the annual 10KM of Alma run. This race took place on the campus of the Catholique University of Louvain (UCL) in Woluwé.
Belgian Event Photography
The Centre Sportif Etudiant (Student Sports Center), known as the “CSE Woluwé,” is the oldest of the 2 sports clubs at the university. This organization is well known for its exciting sporting events as well as supporting the necessary training for athletes to compete in them successfully and safely. Whether skiing, kayaking or running, the CSE celebrates good health with enthusiasm. The 10KM of Alma is a 10km race for students and local companies on the UCL Woluwé campus. It supports a project called “CAP 48.” CAP 48 is a Belgian organization that embraces the idea, “together even if you are different.” They provide materials and resources to promote sports to people with disabilities. Thanks to this year’s participation, the fundraising from the 10KM of Alma totaled 1135 €!
My client for this event was the team from Brussels Life Science Incubator (BLSI). Offering a dynamic environment for professionals and business leaders active in the fields of biotechnology, IT solutions and medical devices, BLSI is the leading life sciences business incubator here in the Brussels capital region. BLSI offers a range of solutions and services to professionals specializing in life sciences. This was their second year running in the Alma 10KM. They found that it was an excellent way to strengthen relationships among other start-up companies and to network with other health professionals.
Gianluigi Arialdi, CEO of BLSI decided to launch the challenge of the race. He also enlisted my help as an event photographer to capture the team during the race. I have to say, his spirit was contagious. Everyone on the BLSI team shared the commitment to the cause and an energetic team spirit. Even though the individual performances within the race were different, everyone shared the same upbeat, positive attitude. In the photography, I tried to showcase that spirit shared by all the members of the BLSI team.
Thank you to all of the participants from BLSI. It was such a pleasure to be a part of this and to share in such a positive team experience. As an event photographer, it was wonderful to be a part of such a celebration of health and wellness for such a good cause. Thank you for having me!
